About Texans for Christ
Texans for Christ is a student ministry that has been serving Tarleton State University's Stephenville campus since 1960. It is our mission to reach as many students as possible with the good news of the gospel. Over the last 60+ years, we have been blessed to witness students make life-long friends, see young men and women meet their future spouse, and take part in many lives being completely transformed by God.
OUR MINISTRY LEADERSHIP:

Evan McLeroy
Student Leadership Coordinator
Evan is a Stephenville native, and spent the 2023-24 school year serving as the Campus Ministry Intern under our previous Campus Ministers Taylor and Whitney Holt, before serving as the Interim Campus Minister for the 2024-25 school year.
Evan has a passion for sharing God's word with others, and has deeply enjoyed getting to serve college students on the Tarleton campus over the last year. One of Evan's favorite verses of scripture is James 1:22, which reads,
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."
Evan strives to help students not only learn God's word, but practically apply it to their daily lives. Evan loves college students, and enjoys sharing life with them as he journeys together with them in striving to become more and more like Jesus.

Charlie DeLong
Campus Minister
Charlie and his wife Kristen have worked as Youth Ministers in Utah, Idaho, and Colorado since 2010. They moved to Stephenville in the summer of 2025 to work with the Texans for Christ ministry. Charlie loves people and lives for sharing the love of Jesus with everyone he meets, especially students.
Charlie and his wife Kristen enjoy being outdoors with their children Oakley, Rosie, and Lane. They enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking, horses (especially Kristen and the kids!), basketball, football, BBQ, music, and making memories with friends and family.
Charlie's favorite Bible verse is Psalm 63:8 with reads:
"My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me."
Charlie finds great joy and fulfillment in walking alongside students as they journey to find their identity and purpose in Jesus.
