Getting Involved
Getting plugged in is easy! Texans for Christ has many opportunities for Tarleton State students to become involved in the life of our ministry. Below are just a few of the regular activities and events that you can come check out and be a part of.
Sunday Night Fellowship Activities
Sunday nights at 8 p.m. we gather for a weekly time of fellowship where students get to know others, build friendships, have fun, and enjoy being in Christian community.
Tuesday Night Dinner & Devotional
Every Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m., Tarleton students gather together at the Texans for Christ Building to share a meal together and engage in biblically-rooted discussion that is applicable to their lives.
Service and Outreach
Texans for Christ is very active in serving the Tarleton campus and surrounding community. We also partner with Tarleton for university-organized service events such as Freshman Move-In and Tarleton Round-Up.
Weekend Retreats
Retreats are a great way to get to know other Tarleton students and make lasting relationships. One weekend each semester, Texans for Christ gets away from the campus for some needed time of fellowship and Spiritual Recharging. Mark your calendars for Fall Retreat, which will be September 15th-17th, 2023.
Mission Work
Texans for Christ is actively involved in Mission Work throughout the world. Students will have opportunities to help support mission efforts all over the globe and will also have the opportunity to attend short-term Mission trips to areas like Honduras, Southeast Texas (Hurricane Relief), New Mexico, Kentucky (Tornado Relief) and other regions in order to share the gospel and provide help to those in need.
Intramural Sports
Several students participate in Intramural Sports throughout the school year together as "Texans for Christ." While we always do our best, our main goal is to simply have fun and set a Christ-like example. Don't want to play? That's okay too! We've got a great fan section of students who come to the games to cheer their friends on as they play.
Campus Life
We like to be as involved as possible in the life of students on the Tarleton State campus. Our goal is to reach as many students as possible, and one way we seek to do so is by being present at university events such as organizational fairs, tailgates, cheering on the Texan athletic teams as they compete, and hosting our own outreach events, among other things.
Tarleton Traditions
Tarleton State University is rich in traditions. We love being involved, especially during Transition Week, Howdy Week, and Homecoming Week! From Beating the Drum, to Purple Pancakes, to riding in the Homecoming Parade, we love getting to be a part of such a special university!
